Remember to Say, “Thank You.”

As a defendant, I did a poor job at times of acknowledging the people who stood alongside me.

Why?

Well, it’s easy to fixate on our struggles when going through a struggle. In so doing, we may need to acknowledge the people supporting us. But it’s essential to take a moment to say “thank you” to those who have supported us through the process.

Whether it’s a friend who has offered a listening ear, a friend who gave you a new job after getting indicted, a friend who provided a volunteer opportunity, a family member who has provided financial support, or your legal team, these individuals are a vital part of our support network. They are standing alongside you while others run.

So, reach out to those who have stood by you during your government investigation. Whether it’s a handwritten note, a phone call, or a small gift, let them know how much their support has meant to you. It may seem like a small gesture, but it can go a long way.
