Scott Laney Joins White Collar Advice as Sales Director

I earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and embarked on a fulfilling career in the medical field. Beginning as a medical device sales representative for Stryker Spine, I specialized in selling implants and biologics to orthopedics and neurosurgeons. I went to Idaho to seek new adventures and the beauty of the great outdoors.

While in Idaho, I transitioned into the clinical laboratory services sector, where I brokered laboratory services for toxicology, genetics, and infectious disease testing. This role allowed me to build strong relationships with clients and develop expertise in the technical and clinical aspects of the industry.

My career, however, took an unexpected turn as I faced a government investigation and, unfortunately, responded poorly to the charges brought against me. Following my conviction at trial, I was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison. Shortly after being convicted, I retained the team at White Collar Advice. Our advocacy efforts led to my release from prison after just 13 1/2.

Today, I am privileged to serve as the Sales Director for White Collar Advice. In this role, I help oversee our outbound marketing campaign, handle inbound client calls, and contribute to disseminating free resources through our non-profit organization, Prison Professors.

Drawing from my personal experiences, I am dedicated to providing guidance, support, and valuable insights to individuals navigating the complexities of the criminal justice system and seeking to rebuild their lives.

In my leisure time, I indulge in outdoor activities such as skiing, biking, and immersing myself in nature’s wonders, cherishing the freedom and joy they bring.

Through my journey, I have learned invaluable lessons about resilience, personal growth, and the significance of second chances.
