Diane Bass

Diane C. Bass is a solo federal criminal defense attorney based in Irvine, California, with nearly thirty years of practice. She came to law by an unusual route — a childhood in ballet on Long Island, a drama degree from UC Irvine, and four years pursuing acting in New York — before earning her J.D. with honors from Southwestern University School of Law. After a stint in civil litigation, she moved to the Public Defender's Office, tried 24 cases in her first two years, and went on to build a federal practice through court-panel appointments in gang, organized crime, and capital cases. She now represents private clients in fraud, conspiracy, money laundering, and tax matters, including several that have drawn national press.
