Ron Chapman practices federal criminal defense with a focus on cases that go to trial rather than plea negotiations. He is a partner at Chapman, Dowling & Mallek, a law firm based in Detroit, Michigan. Ron’s practice represents executives, healthcare professionals, business owners, attorneys, and high-net-worth individuals facing federal investigations and white collar allegations nationwide. Mr. Chapman began his career as a federal prosecutor before founding his own firm. He has built a trial record of over 188 federal jury not-guilty verdicts, including a full acquittal in United States v. Bothra. Mr. Chapman treats trial preparation as central to his work, not an afterthought. He handles every case personally, keeps a limited caseload, and gives clients a written litigation risk report early, covering the evidence, the sentencing guidelines, and the real risks and benefits of going to trial. Watch the full video interview above to hear Ron talk about why he built a firm around trying cases, how AI is changing federal prosecutions, and what he wants every client to know before they call him.
