Federal Judge Unimpressed by Defendants' Sentencing Preparations

After receiving an 18-month sentence for embezzlement, a defendant called me, filled with regret for not adequately preparing for his sentencing. It’s one thing to be unaware of what to do, but quite another to know and still not act.
