Lessons From Prison Book
As Seen On

Hey there, I’m Justin Paperny.

You know, I always find it a bit amusing when I see “about me” pages on websites like this. They tend to be written in the third person, even though the site owner usually pens them!

So, after making a few attempts to sound more formal by writing about myself that way, why not just have a friendly chat with you? Because, in many ways, that’s what this is.

I know this sounds self-serving because I want you to read the book, but I needed Lessons From Prison when I was in trouble. I was utterly lost an absolute basket case. I locked myself in my home, turning it into a kind of “man cave,” and to make matters worse, I started putting on weight; I lied to my lawyers and the government. It was a dark period, to put it lightly, and I felt like I was spiraling out of control.

I needed resources and realistic, honest guidance to manage this crisis successfully.

This book would have been my compass, helping me hold my lawyer accountable, saving me precious dollars, and potentially securing a shorter sentence. But beyond all that, it would have shown me how to live with dignity and purpose: Never forget your family is watching and wondering, “How will he respond to this crisis?” I failed that test miserably.

Thankfully, I found a mentor in federal prison, Michael Santos, who helped me document my journey through this book. Let our journey guide you as you read its pages.

The philosophy within these pages, drawing inspiration from great thinkers like Michael, Aristotle, and John Locke, and the timeless stories of the Minotaur, the Tortoise and the Hare, is not just theoretical; it’s profoundly relatable and actionable. These lessons are practical and designed to help you regain control of your case and put you on a path to a shorter sentence and a more productive experience in federal prison. (You will also learn how to have more liberty in the halfway house and on supervised release).

I wrote this book because I needed it when I was in your shoes. I didn’t want anyone else to experience my isolation and uncertainty during those challenging times. Thousands have read Lessons From Prison and have benefited immensely.

Here are some benefits you can expect from the book:

  • Practical strategies to manage a government investigation.
  • Advice to reduce your federal prison sentence.
  • Guidance on how to build a best-in-class release plan that should lead to an earlier release and more liberty on supervised release.

If you’re feeling lost and overwhelmed (as I was), don’t hesitate to join the ranks of those who’ve found hope, guidance, and a path to success within these pages.
