Psychology/Counseling Services

Psychology Services provides basic mental health care including suicide prevention, crisis intervention, treatment for those experiencing mental illness, psychiatric medication referrals, psycho-educational groups, self-help materials, and individual brief counseling. A psychologist at the camp conducts both individual and group counseling for those with emotional concerns and is available at all times for crisis situations. Confidentiality is maintained throughout all services.

Health Services

Camp sick call is held at the Federal Detention Center (FDC) lobby at 6:45 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Dental sick call takes place Monday mornings at 7:00 AM at the FDC lobby, excluding holidays. The pill line for the camp runs Monday through Friday from 6:30 to 7:00 AM and approximately 5:00 to 5:30 PM on weekdays, except Wednesday. Those under 50 may request a physical examination every two years, while those over 50 may request one annually.

Fitness & Recreation

The Recreation Center and Hobby Shop are open daily from 6:00 to 9:30 AM, 10:30 AM to 3:15 PM, and 4:30 to 8:15 PM. The recreation yard is open from dawn to dusk and features a paved track, weight pile, two softball fields, a soccer and flag football field, basketball courts, a multipurpose court, handball and racquetball courts, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, bocce courts, a baggo court, and a pickleball court. Organized intramural leagues are available for most activities. During the winter months, a recreation gym offers basketball, volleyball, handball, racquetball, and indoor soccer leagues. The Arts and Hobby Crafts Program includes ceramics, pottery, leather, painting, airbrush, fly tying, yarn, drawing, and beading in both individual and classroom settings.

Religious Services

The Religious Services Department coordinates resources to meet spiritual needs, with schedules posted in housing units and at the Chapel. Community volunteers assist with programming. Group and individual religious counseling, instruction classes, correspondence courses, music programs, and fellowship groups are available. A Religious Diet program is offered through the Chaplain. Emergency phone calls may be arranged through the Chapel for verified situations involving the death or serious medical condition of an immediate family member.
