Psychology Services offers mental health care including screening, assessment, and treatment of mental health or substance abuse concerns. Individual and group counseling, psycho-educational classes, self-help resources, and supportive services are available. Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, self-image groups, and other voluntary groups are offered. Drug education and non-residential drug abuse programming are also provided. To reach Psychology Services, submit a written request, speak with staff during mainline or unit rounds, or in a crisis, notify any staff member of an urgent need.

Health Services

Emergency medical care is available 24 hours a day, with clinical staff covering day and evening shifts and community emergency personnel responding when staff are not on-site. Medical triage (sick call) is held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday at 8:00 AM, with urgent situations and injuries given priority treatment. Controlled medications are dispensed at the pill line during posted time periods. Services include sick call for new or recurring medical or dental symptoms, chronic care clinics for ongoing and infectious diseases, routine dental care, emergency care for injuries and sudden illness, age-appropriate preventive care, restorative care, and long-term and end-of-life care. Preventive health visits may be requested every two years for people under 50, and annually for those 50 and older.

Fitness & Recreation

Recreation programs include both indoor and outdoor activities, individualized arts and crafts, and intramural team sports. Physical fitness and weight reduction programs are also available. Hobby craft programs include painting, leather work, art, and drawing. Sports and recreation equipment are provided by the Recreation Department.

Religious Services

Chaplains offer religious worship, education, counseling, spiritual direction, support, and crisis intervention to meet diverse religious needs. The religious diet program, ceremonial religious meals, and religious holiday observances are coordinated through the chaplain's office. The Life Connections and Threshold programs highlight faith-based reentry priorities. Contract and volunteer representatives of various faiths also contribute to programming.
