Psychology/Counseling Services

The facility offers a nine-month, 500-hour Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), a non-residential drug treatment program (NRDAP), a drug abuse education program, Alcoholics Anonymous, self-image groups, and Positive Mental Attitude (PMA) programs. The department is staffed by four full-time psychologists and five to six drug treatment specialists. A psychiatrist visits on a regular basis or is available through telepsychiatry.

Health Services

The Health Services Unit includes a Medical Department, Dental Department, X-ray unit, and laboratory testing capabilities. The facility is staffed by several full-time physicians, physician assistants, dentists, one pharmacist, and other health services staff. A clinician is on duty from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM every day, with a physician and physician assistant on call 24 hours a day on an emergency callback basis. Sick call sign-up is available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Emergencies are seen at any time. The medication line is at 6:15 AM and 5:00 PM, seven days a week. The nearest hospital is approximately 30 minutes away. Persons under 50 are eligible for a physical examination every three years, while those over 50 are eligible annually.

Fitness & Recreation

The facility offers a well-equipped gymnasium, outside recreation yard, hobby craft center, art program, and musical band room. The gymnasium provides structured times for basketball, handball, racquetball, volleyball, soccer, and ACE Wellness classes, along with weightlifting, a billiards room, and table games (ping-pong, darts). The outdoor yard offers softball, a running track, tennis courts, bocce ball, horseshoes, and shuffleboard. Musical instruments are available in the recreation area. The hobby craft center offers ceramics, slip, and leather work.

Religious Services

One full-time chaplain coordinates a wide range of religious activities, with a quarterly schedule posted on TRULINCS. Individual pastoral counseling is available. A community of volunteers provides services for most faiths. The chaplain also approves the acquisition of all religious materials.
