Psychology/Counseling Services

The Psychology Services Department is staffed by a Chief Psychologist, a Drug Abuse Program Coordinator, a Resolve (Trauma) Coordinator, a Staff Psychologist, a Psychology Technician, and Drug Treatment Specialists. Normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Services include drug education classes, the Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), a 500-hour residential program lasting nine months, Non-Residential Drug Abuse Treatment, and follow-up support. Parenting classes cover communication skills, building self-esteem, discipline, child abuse awareness, and childhood illness, immunization, and nutrition. A psychologist is available every day during lunch for questions and to address concerns. Crisis intervention and individual counseling are also available.

Health Services

The camp provides outpatient medical care, with local hospitals located approximately five to ten minutes away. Prisoners who need routine care or evaluation of a health concern must report to Health Services between 6:30 and 7:00 AM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday for sick call. Insulin lines run daily at 6:10 AM (7:00 AM on weekends and holidays) and 2:30 PM. Pill lines are held from 8:00 to 8:30 AM and 3:00 to 3:30 PM. Annual breast examinations are available to all prisoners. Mammograms are recommended every three to five years for women between ages 40 and 50, and annually for women over 50. The facility does not have 24-hour health services; however, a system is in place to ensure immediate care is provided during emergencies.

Fitness & Recreation

Physical fitness and leisure programs are offered to promote positive lifestyle changes, reduce stress, and support overall health and well-being. Activities include organized and informal games, sports, physical fitness, table games, hobby crafts, music programs, intramural activities, social and cultural organizations, and movies. The hobby craft center offers ceramics, leather craft, puritan sticks, painting, sketching, knitting, and beadwork. Two movies per week are shown in the housing unit and recreation TV rooms.

Religious Services

The Religious Services Department operates a full program to address all spiritual and religious needs. An updated schedule with program times and chaplain availability is posted in the chapel and on bulletin boards in each housing unit.
