Psychological services are available in both English and Spanish. Services include individual consultation, counseling, crisis intervention, a 40-hour drug education program (meeting twice a week for ten weeks), non-residential drug counseling, and a voluntary 500-hour Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) with follow-up counseling for graduates. All participation in non-residential treatment services is voluntary.
The Health Services Department is open from 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM and is staffed by physicians, physician assistants, a dentist, a dental assistant, and a pharmacist, with medical staff available seven days a week. Outpatient care is provided, with Mesquite Hospital approximately 15 minutes away. Sick call sign-ups are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 to 7:00 AM. Pill line hours are daily: 6:30 to 7:00 AM and 5:00 to 5:30 PM for insulin; 7:00 to 7:30 AM and 5:30 to 6:00 PM for all other medications.
Both indoor and outdoor facilities are available. Organized sports include softball, flag football, soccer, volleyball, tennis, handball, racquetball, and basketball. Varsity sports teams compete against outside teams. Weightlifting and fitness equipment are available in the weight area. A wellness program, auditorium, and music room are also offered. Recreation yard, weight area, and music room hours are 6:15 AM to 3:25 PM and 4:30 to 8:25 PM daily. The hobby shop is open weekdays 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM; weekends and holidays 7:00 AM to 2:50 PM and 4:30 to 8:00 PM. Arts and crafts include leather craft and painting.
The facility is staffed by several full-time chaplains, with contract rabbi and imam services also provided. Over 150 community volunteers help provide services for most faiths. A sweat lodge is available for Native American services. Participation in Islamic Jumah Prayer or sweat lodge ceremonies requires submitting a request form to the chaplains. The chapel offers a religious library, and chaplains are available on an individual basis, usually seven days a week. Schedules are posted on the compound and inside the chapel.
